Basic Box
Sqq Sqq - Standard box step in closed position. Glide along without picking up feet from floor. Keep shoulders level, and stretch from feet to shoulders on weight-bearing side to give rumba sway.
Second Position Break
S - M steps fwd on L foot.
{right break}
q - M extends R foot to R and shifts weight to it.
q - M then shifts weight to L foot. W mirrors.
S - M brings R foot back beside L foot weights R foot.
{left break}
q - M extends L foot to L and shifts weight to it.
q - M then shifts weight to R foot. W mirrors.
S - M brings L foot back beside R foot weights L foot.
Repeat, but on the "S" of the left break, M steps fwd with L foot to end the step.
Woman's Outside Turn
Sqq - Starts with first half of standard box.
Sqq - As W steps fwd on S, M raises her R hand and leads her into start of under-arm R turn.
Sqq - M starts second box on S. W does step-pivot R on S and completes turn at "top" of box on qq.
Sqq - Standard end ("bottom" of box).
Fifth Position Break (open out)
Sqq - Starts with first half of standard box.
{right break}
S - M steps R, pivoting 1/4 L and opening W to her R to promenade position.
qq - Each rocks back on outside feet, then fwd on inside feet.
{left break}
S - Each steps forward on outside feet, pivoting 1/2 turn in to face opposite direction.
qq - Each rocks back on outside feet, then fwd on inside feet.
{end}
S - M takes small step forward as he leads W into 1/2 turn to her L to reach closed position face-to-face with M.
qq - Standard side-side weight shift.
S Turns
Sqq - Starts with first half of standard box.
{right Ess}
S - Each turns 1/4 inward and steps fwd on outer feet, M's L hand holding W's R hand.
qq - Each steps fwd. on inner feet and M pushes W's hand away to start outward pivot. Both then rock-pivot 1/2 turn back to opposite direction (no body contact).
{left Ess}
S - Each steps fwd on outer feet, M's R hand and W's L hand extended forward in parallel.
qq - Each steps fwd. on inner feet and M pushes W's hand away to start outward pivot. Both then rock-pivot 1/2 turn back to opposite direction (no body contact).
{end}
Sqq - M catches W's R hand and brings her to closed position and does qq to prep for next step.
Rumba Rocks
Sqq - Start basic box.
S - Start W's underarm L turn (wipe nose).
qq - M steps fwd as W finishes turn into two-hand face-to-face position.
S - M rocks fwd. (W back).
qq - Shuffle closer to each other.
S - M rocks back pulling W close with arms widespread.
qq - Shuffle fwd.
S - M rocks fwd. (W back).
qq - M lifts W's R hand up and twists her L hand down and inward to lead her into R underarm turn to end in closed position.
Sqq - M rocks W fwd, back, fwd.
Rumba Wheel (DRAFT)
Sqq - Standard box start.
Sqq - Start 2nd-position break, ending in side-by-side position facing same way, arms extended.
Sqq - Side-by-side with inner arms held M steps backward as W steps fwd wheeling around.
Sqq Sqq - Repeat wheeling. On last "qq" M rocks back then fwd to catch W in closed position.
